SEO & How to Increase Website Leads

May 7, 2018 by Tina Reed Johnson

“Hello, Tina Johnson?  I need help with my site and SEO.  I’m not getting any leads.”

We often receive calls from site owners that want help marketing their website, but have not updated it for several years and may be having trouble with SEO.  If you are behind the technology curve, common concerns are that your Website may not be:

  1. Secure

Out-of-date code can leave the site open to security and privacy issues with user data, such as online forms that require personal information and credit card data.  Users should never give personal information such as contact information, birth date, social security number or financial information online unless the Website shows the “https:” and lock symbol on the browser.

Tip:  EU (European Union) sites must adhere to new online security regulations by May 25, 2018, or be subject to stiff fines.  See GDPR link below.

  1. Mobile friendly

Your audience may be trying to access your site via smart phones or other online devices and having trouble reading content and navigating.  If they have to scroll too far down or across to see text, and the site is too hard to read they will quickly abandon your site and search for a competitor.

  1. Loading properly or quickly

Old and cumbersome code can slow down the load time of your site.  Your site may not even be loading at all, or is not compatible with certain Web browsers.  Without regular site updates and maintenance your site can be inaccessible and users may be receiving site loading errors such as “Not found, error 404.”

Google ranks Websites according to these criteria, among other factors.  Before we even consider how to attract site traffic and address SEO, these issues must be resolved.  Your site must also be up to date with great content that is helpful to users and search engines (but that’s another story!).

We welcome questions about your Website.  Please comment below or contact us on social Tina Reed Johnson on Facebook.

Testimonials

Thank you, Tina. Great work as always! Love the wording and images on your ads, and it’s wonderful to see the click-throughs to the Mental Health page you wrote and lecture page on our website. Kathy Burris, Los Angeles, CA February 2021
I think the ads are effective. And doubling the amount spent can only help. I was unsure how many we would have come, so I was a bit careful about the advertising for our talk. We had about 20-25 show up. I understand we got some people from the FB ads. I do think the FB ads are a plus. Lecture Chairman, So Cal church December 2022
Thank you so much for the report on our Facebook ad and for the work you did to publicize our lecture.  We had 155 people join our online lecture.  We very much appreciate your support.  The number of users reached is great.  We have made so much progress since we started running ads a few years ago. Linda GerltFirst Church of Laguna Beach
Our website ChristianScienceLosAngeles had the highest activity ever and we’ve had 398 views of the webinar as of today on YouTube. It looks like Tuesday was an all time high for pages accessed on our website coinciding with your facebook ad release. Then the day of the webinar we had another new high for visits and pages accessed. We are pleased that your targeted facebook ads seemed to reach individuals that were interested in exploring our website. Thanks for your good work!!! Sylvia Crew-Rynski, Thousand Oaks Church Lecture Committee Chair June 2019 Facebook Live, Thousand Oaks
The lecture was an unqualified success. We had overflow in our lobby. We had quite a few that were new and we had many, many positive comments. Thank you for advertising our talk on Facebook! Marty DeWindt First Church Laguna Niguel, CA August 2018 Facebook Advertising, Nonprofit Testimonial, Laguna Niguel
Thank you Tina, and good to know these results from our Facebook advertising.  We’re working on educating our membership about the value of social media and appreciate this data to confirm.  We definitely had a number of visitors and heard very good feedback about our speaker at our talk. -Madelon Maupin, Bibleroads.com, Newport Beach, CA November 2018 Facebook Advertising, Nonprofit Testimonial, Newport Beach
The Facebook advertising worked!  It was our largest crowd w/a significant number of new comers.  The LARGE auditorium was almost full!  The lecture was so well received that the Q & A didn’t finish until 4 pm.  -Caraway Longville & First Church, San Diego, CA June 2017 Facebook Advertising, Nonprofit Testimonial, San Diego
