Questions and Answers about Google Plus
1. What is Google Plus?
Google Plus is a relatively new social media platform run by Google. You can connect, share, like and comment just as on Facebook. The interface is different, but the concepts are the same. I’m always trying to create awareness of G+ because people simply don’t understand it. And if they don’t understand it, they won’t use it!
2. Why should I use Google Plus?
There are many reasons why you should use Google Plus for yourself and/or your business. The number one reason is for search benefits. If you want people to find you or your business then you want to be active on Google Plus. See the video here:
3. Why aren’t more people using Google Plus?
There is a sense of mystery and confusion surrounding Google Plus. It has not been properly marketed and advertised, and Google’s management has not fully embraced it. Google is run by engineers, and although the technology is advanced and well-managed, the user-end could be improved.
Also, people come and go, especially if they are not finding friends and family on the platform. There are more and more people in my area using Google Plus. If you want to connect to new people Google Plus is for you!
4. Who is on Google Plus?
An amazing group of photographers, techies and marketers are here, as well as many other interesting, thoughtful and intelligent people. Other groups include fashion, food, entertainment, and nonprofits that create and engage in great conversation. The majority of big brands and local businesses are taking advantage of search and branding benefits.
5. How do I connect to people on Google Plus, especially if I don’t know anyone there?
There is a searchable database within Google Plus so that you can search using keywords of interest. You can easily target your audience this way by connecting to their personal profile or page. They don’t have to circle or follow you back for you to see their profile or posts.
You can also add a circle or group of people that has already been created and shared by others. Many circles are categorized under topics of interest, which makes it easy to connect to people in your niche. These methods enable you to connect to people you otherwise would never reach.
Communities may be the best way to meet people, because of shared interests. Remember, the more engaging you are with others, the more potential friends and customers you can make on Google Plus!
